"The Umbrellas" (c. 1881–1886) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir is a vibrant Impressionist painting depicting a bustling Parisian street scene during a rain shower. The composition is filled with figures holding blue and gray umbrellas, capturing the movement and atmosphere of urban life. Renoir contrasts the elegant, solitary woman in the foreground with a mother and her children to the right, showcasing a mix of social classes. The work is notable for its blend of loose Impressionist brushwork and the more defined, classical style Renoir adopted in his later years.
