The Grand Canal Venice | Edward Angelo Goodall | 19th Century
A 19th century view of the Grand Canal in Venice, attributed to the circle of Edward Angelo Goodall (1819–1908). Rendered with exceptional clarity and atmospheric detail, the work is preserved in excellent condition and remains housed in its original antique gilt frame. Though unsigned, the painting is securely attributed to the circle of Edward Angelo Goodall, supported by the existence of a related watercolour preparatory sketch sold at Bonhams in 2014 for £3,500.
