Frederik Hendrik Kaemmerer’s Sitting for her Portrait (1839–1902) captures an elegant moment between artist and sitter within a richly appointed studio. A noblewoman, dressed in a lavish silk gown of coral and blue, reclines gracefully with a fan in hand, her composed expression turned toward the painter at work. The artist, intent on his canvas, kneels before her with palette and brush, embodying both dedication and deference. Kaemmerer’s refined brushwork, attention to costume detail, and interplay of textures—from tapestries to fur rugs—evoke the opulence and sophistication of 18th-century aristocratic life.

Frame:

Created from high-quality wood, milled with simple clean lines and presented with a satin finish. Includes an off-white mount that will not discolour or fade with age.

All framed prints feature our premium fine art paper. This is a museum-quality paper which reproduces photography and artworks with exceptional tonality and renders sharp details with consistent flatness and accuracy.
